Living in Alaska for over 20 years, I've experienced many amazing things about the Great Land. Everyday is an adventure here. I love Alaska, and it is where my heart belongs.

Looky What I Found!!
Okay...so I didn't really find them myself, the neighbors' 7 year-old son found them. He ALSO took the eggs out, ran them into his house, and showed his mom! Thankfully, she told him to put the eggs back "right away!" I was still concerned that "Mommy Bird" may not return. The nest is only 4 feet off the ground; perfect height for little boys! I checked last night, and still, there was no mommy bird. I was sad. I checked again this afternoon, and saw only eggs...BUT, there were three eggs, and yesterday, only two! Mommy Bird had returned!
Tonight, I saw Mommy Bird sitting quietly on the eggs! :)
I can't wait to see little, naked birdies in here soon!
I am an Alaskan-American, much to my mother's dismay. I love my country and find it sad that many Alaskans display only the State flag as if we are not part of the Union. However, I feel Alaska is much more like America used to be, and not so much like America is becoming. I was raised here, my kids were born here, and I intend to get old and die here.
I'm what most Americans call a "right-wing conservative." Really, to me, this means the following:
I believe in God and Jesus Christ. In redemption for sins which is found ONLY through belief in Jesus Christ.
I believe in my family. Family is what stabalizes the individual and we should defend our families regardless.
I believe in a country whose principles are founded in a root of God and His Word.
Hmmm, "right-winged conservative?" Nah-just an old-fashioned American girl!---Well, better make that an ALASKAN American girl! ;)
